How To Build Your Own Solar Panel

Using alternative methods to generate electricity is something that more people are turning to in order to just do their bit to help preserve the planet. One of the methods that people use involves sunlight so here is some information on how to build your own solar panel.

To start off with you need to go to some shop that sells the actual panels and in an ideal world it shall be at least 16 volts and the actual size depends on the space you have available. There are several stores that shall stock them but just remember you are not buying the complete set.

You then need a battery supply and it is always best to get rechargeable batteries and look at getting a 12 volt one. Do make sure that it is known as a deep cell battery as they are made to be able to withstand constant use so although they may be a bit more expensive they are cheaper in the long term.

Make sure you buy a battery box which is used mainly for safety reasons. It protects people from power that they can give out should you be working nearby which is why it is an important thing to have as is a DC meter and DC input which needs to match the voltage of your battery.

You then need to attach the DC meter and input to the battery box and then using insulated wire connect the meter to the battery itself. Then you need to connect the solar panel and DC input to the battery always connecting the negative wire first for safety reasons.

The final thing you need to do in order to build your own solar panel is to just position it in a place where it is going to get the maximum amount of sunlight. It should then only take a matter of a few hours before you can then start to use the energy that you have been able to generate through entirely natural sources.
